Harry -
I got a good big chuckle out of this nonsensical hire. The UM people I know
think this is a one-year stop en route to Harbaugh getting the UM HC gig; I
told them that they are all mad as a chapeau shop full of hatters. As we
know, the Cardinal went 1-11/1-8 Pac 10 in 2006; see Stanford's 2007
schedule:
2007
Sept. 1 UCLA*
Sept. 15 San Jose State
Sept. 22 Oregon*
Sept. 29 Arizona State*
Oct. 6 at USC*
Oct. 13 Texas Christian (Homecoming)
Oct. 20 at Arizona*
Oct. 27 at Oregon State*
Nov. 3 Washington*
Nov. 10 at Washington State*
Nov. 17 California*
Nov. 24 Notre Dame
Yow. Note that 9 - 9! - of these 12 teams are bowl-bound this year, two to
BCS bowls (and we just saw what TCU did to NIU last night - ouch!).
Harbaugh could easily go 0-fer 2007. Good luck, pal.
On second thought, yeah! He'd be a GREAT UM hire - at least as good as
Amaker! :o)
Go Cats,
Peg Wolfe AKA sundevilpeg (hey, we were so crappy we fired our coach, and WE
even laid a 38-3 beatdown on Stanford...)

Is it just me who is very surprised that Stanford has named former bears QB
Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach ?
I think he has been arrested for DUI (while coaching San Diego) and was
known
to get into a few off the field altercations while a player for
Chicago--Seems like he should be going to Miami or some other outlaw
program,
not Stanford
