I believe the key there is "I-AA." It may be that the James Madisons of the
world will take great athletes who can't count to ten or spell "cat," but I
find it hard to believe that these small schools can consistently recruit
enough football talent to play Division I teams on an even keel. Yes, maybe
they can beat the bottom rung big schools or beat some team when it's down
like Colorado who fell to Montana in the opening game, but they shouldn't be
able to do that often. On September 1 of next year I want us to bury
Northeastern so they will never be seen again.
