[NU Sports] too bad for Uncle Floyd (or not)

I find it hard to feel sorry for Michigan here -- they
had their shot at Ohio State and lost, and the
"penalty" they pay is going to Pasadena to play
Southern California in an old-time Rose Bowl. Gee,
doesn't that stink! I bet NO other Big Ten team would
trade places with them ...

Florida is a worthy opponent for Ohio State, with wins
over Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina
... and champions of what is certainly one of the two
top leagues.

Looks to me like a great BCS lineup with some terrific
games. It's good for a rebuilding New Orleans to get
the influx of fans it will get for its game - go Bayou
Bengals!!!! - and Louisville-Wake is a classic offense
vs. defense struggle. Oklahoma I could care less
about, honestly, but it will be fun to see if Boise
State can hang with the big boys (I suspect not;
remember the hurting Georgia put on them last year).
And the Rose will seem like old times.

If there's anybody I feel sorry for it's Wisconsin,
which should be in New Orleans instead if N*** D***.

"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof, and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law.

"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to defend causes that were for the moment unpopular." -- Edward R. Murrow, 1954.
