Hey, it could be worse. Two weeks ago I was expecting to read messages
demanding that Kelly Amonte Hiller be fired. After all, the lacrosse team
*lost* a game, which means they are already headed in the wrong direction
when compared to last season. Shouldn't we keep up our high expectations?
Are we really willing to just settle for -- literally -- "second best"?
What does that say about us as a school? I also haven't heard about any
assistant lacrosse coaches wanting to come to Northwestern; clearly that
means that the program is in disrepair. And don't get me started on ticket
revenues, which seem practically nonexistent. Next thing you know we might
actually *not* win a championship some year, and then where will we be?
Maybe folks are just waiting until the end of the season to see whether we
lose another game. After all, last year's success probably earned KAH one
more season in which to justify our high expectations. If we don't win the
championship this year, though, I expect lots of "healthy," "interesting,"
"spicy" pot-stirring!
[:) :) :), for the humor-impaired]
