[NU Sports] PIGSKIN PICKS reminder

Remember that all picks are due by kickoff Saturday.
Here are my picks before heading off to Evanston after
school's done tomorrow.

* OHIO STATE 16, Iowa 12
A slugfest in the Shoe between two teams that didn't
expect to have one loss in the first month yet alone
two -- Bucks squeak by at home.

* MICHIGAN 27, Wisconsin 20
Should be a good game in Madison, but Lloyd looks
like, as usual, he's saved his best offensive plans
for after that September loss.

* MICHIGAN STATE 30, Illinois 24
Sparty almost slips at Illinois, as is their
tradition, but they survive and prepare for the big
game with Michigan. 

* MINNESOTA 38, Purdue 34
A shootout in the Dome ... I'll go with the better
running game and the Gophers in a mild upset. Purdue
didn't impress me much at 'Zona last week.

* ARIZONA STATE 42, Oregon State 28
Not many teams will have the firepower to keep up with
ASU this year ...

* USC 52, Oregon 17
... but the Trojans are probably one of those teams.

* MIAMI 23, Colorado 10
Woulda been a great cross-country matchup, say, TEN
FRIGGIN' YEARS AGO!!!

* CLEMSON 24, Boston College 20
A pretty good game in this new ACC matchup, but the
Tigers get back on track after last week's heartbreak.

* VIRGINIA TECH 29, Georgia Tech 13
The Jackets run into the buzz saw that is Lane
Stadium.

* LSU 24, Tennessee 14
Heck of a clash in the Bayou and there should be loads
of emotion, but the Tigers are battle-tested while the
Vols are battle-weary from last week's trip to the
Swamp.
And off the board ...
* NORTHWESTERN 21, Penn State 16
The Cats bounce back from the disaster in the desert
by slipping past the Nits ... I hope.
