I think the relatively restrained response to the W yesterday is that the
opponent was a weak MAC team that is just a shadow of what we will face next
Saturday. Based on what I saw in Ann Arbor (and without a couple of untimely
fumbles, the game might have been very close), the Cats will have a real
challenge against a tough, talented NIU team.

Yes, it's great to see Baz throwing well and Sutton emerging as the premier
running back, but let's be honest, the competition probably was not much
better than an intra-squad in Kenosha. Cats will have to bring their A game or
experience embarrassment on their home field. After playing relatively well
against Michigan, NIU will be highly motivated and thirsting for a W on
Saturday. I hope the Cats are ready (and that we see some improvement in the
secondary, which remains a weakness I expect NIU will try to exploit).

Does everyone on the list know we had a game yesterday? Where is the
chatter? Come on people!

* What was your opinion of our rushing attack?
* Is the defense solid, or was Ohio just really that bad?
* Do you think Howels will be better than Huffman?
* Did anyone watch the NIU game? Are you as worried as I am about stopping
their running attack?
* For anyone at the game -- how did the D and O lines look? Will the
freshmen and sophmores make a difference, or will this be a long year?

Let's get it started! It's football season.
