The debate on Walker is meaningless.  Bienen is hooked on both Walker and Carmody and neither will be discharged regardless of their records during his tenure as NU president. 

What Walker does need to do is fire the defensive coordinator the minute the season is over.  For years, with a limited exception when Howard was young and healthy, we had been unable to recruit defensive linemen who can put pressure on the opposing quarterback.  We therefore need a creative defensive coordinator who will alternatve looks, defensives, will periodically use blitzes etc. How many times this year have our opponents had third or four downs with more than three yars to go and converted and gotten first downs? 30? 40? 75% of the time.  It is apparent our opponents know exactly what our defensive will do and is must be relatively easy to defeat.  The offensive uses an unorthodox approach to make up for talent deficiencies; the time has come for a more creative defense.
