I think another post points out the main reason, the Cats were stifled in
the 2nd half, a combination of great defense, dropped or slightly off-target
passes and too many holding calls wiping out the few good plays they DID 
have.  When you're facing 2nd or 3rd and long and down by 14 or more points, 
the running game isn't at the top of the playlist.

In other words, the answer to your question is that we don't really know
how much the running game figured in the offensive game plan, because the 
games situation threw that book out the window.
