Really? Ever see an SEC game? They ALL have
team-colored shakers and they shake 'em like CRAZY
making noise. I've seen thundersticks at a few college
games this year (I think Purdue game 'em out vs. us if
I remember). And PSU for the OSU game had 15,000
students in solid white and lots of blue and white
objects to shake and yell with.

It's school spirit - it's college football.

Back in '95 for the PSU game and '00 for Michigan, I
believe, they gave out the purple shakers (pom pons)
at the gate. I know for some of the homecoming games
(Purdue a few years back) we had thundersticks. It
adds to the fun and noise.

I'd love it if our fans all wore the team colors,
stood on third down, clapped in unison and made noise
like the Cheeseheads in Madison just out of their own
spirit too ... but if we can do something else to help
and have a flash of Purple Haze on national TV, even
better!
