[NU Sports] gambling and college athletes

Harry,

Thanks for the insight. I am completely ignorant of how on-line betting works,
so I didn't know about the minimums. The guy I know could have misled me on
that point, or it could have been 5-10 guys each throwing in $5-$10 to clear a
$50 minimum bet. I don't know.

What scares me is if it was like this at one school, then (other then the three
service academies) it can easily happen at the other 114. It could still happen
at the service academies, but it would be harder to conceal and likely an honor
code violation.

I guess NCAA coaches are really up the creek here. They will no doubt be held
accounatble (or at least have to live with the resulting black eye), but they
are powerless to stop on-line wagering. Scary.
