I have been a NU fan since 1984 and I cannot remember
a more dominating road win, especially in the league,
and very few home ones (2000 vs. Illinois would be
one).
I flipped through the media guide and I believe
Saturday's win is the largest margin of victory in a
BT road game for NU since 6 November 1943 (41-0 at
Wisconsin).
Saturday was our largest margin of victory EVER,
anywhere, vs. Michigan State -- surpassing 39-6 in
1917, which, for those of us WHITE SOX fans on the
list, is an excellent omen!!! (Sox/NU fans: this
Saturday was awesome. Next Saturday will be nirvana, I
predict.)
All hail these kids in purple and white. After ASU,
did anybody expect this? What a treat we have this
fall -- now let's finish the job. (Hint: Big Ten
title!)
Any guesses on what happened between ASU and PSU?
After the humiliation in the desert, our 'Cats have
been a different team -- one stop vs. PSU and they're
unbeaten in the league. What happened? What made the
difference? I suspect part of the defense's
improvement is just gaining experience, but that can't
explain everything.
In the end, no analysis here -- just reveling in the
delight that is 2005 NU football. Bliss!!
