I think the only issue with replay is that they are not allowed to
show the replay on the video board when the play is being officially
reviewed by the technical advisor. Showing the replay after every
play does not affect this as long as they stop it when the referee
calls the review timeout on the field.
Actually, last year in our game at Wisconsin, we had a catch (by
Herbert) overturned because he stepped out of bounds. The play was
called a catch on the field but then the replay on the video screens
showed that his foot was out of bounds, and of course the crowd
started booing like crazy. The play was subsequently reviewed and the
call on the field overturned.
I don't think showing the replay on the board will affect the
review/replay at all since the technical advisor watches every play in
the booth on the system they have set up. They are taking time to
review every close play, which I believe is a good system so that
there is no bias to eitehr side and you don't have to worry about
coaches using timeouts or whatever.
