leagues again show how deep they are by featuring
great matchups week in and week out. We have another
Thursday night game in ACC land, so picks are due by
kickoff Thursday night.

My Picks

* MICHIGAN 27, Iowa 23 - Will the Wolverines finally
put two good games back to back? It'll be tough at
Kinnick, but the Hawks have been feasting on a light
schedule and won't be able to contain Hart.

* OHIO STATE 23, Indiana 7 - Hoosiers are improved,
but not enough to beat the Bucks.

* PENN STATE 34, Illinois 14 - The Nits bounce back
under the lights (and empty seats) of Champaign.

* PURDUE 45, Wisconsin 41 - Dunno why, but I feel that
Bucky's due for a letdown and that Tiller breaks
through finally in league play.

* LSU 20, Auburn 13 - Should be a heck of a game, but
Baton Rouge at night is a tough place to win.

* TENNESSEE 16, Alabama 10 - The Tide will be pumped
at home, but the Vols are battle tested.

* MIAMI 26, Georgia Tech 17 - No upsetting the Canes
this time.

* TEXAS 55, Texas Tech 31 - The Raiders don't have the
horses (or defense) to keep up with the Horns in this
track meet.

* UCLA 37, Oregon State 33 - Bruins need to be careful
and not look ahead to SC just yet.

* VIRGINIA TECH 24, Maryland 10 - Good odds for a
special teams touchdown or two in this one.

And off the board ...

* NORTHWESTERN 41, Michigan State 38 - Another wild
one with the Cats jumping out early while MSU is still
moping and hanging on for dear life late. Should see a
LOT of yardage and big plays. I hope we hang on and
the O doesn't let up!
