[NU Sports] Big Ten today ...

Things certainly got even more interesting today ...

Pretty big :02 Lloyd Carr whined for on that final
drive, eh?

* Big win for Michigan - big loss for PSU. Still, it's
tough to see PSU losing the rest of the way, with a
game at Illinois, Purdue and Wisky visiting Happy
Valley and two weeks to prepare for the finale at MSU.
Folks here in Phoenix are already drooling about a
"Rose Bowl away from the Rose Bowl" with UCLA and PSU.

* Ohio State also looks in good position to run the
table ... or at least roll into Ann Arbor at the end
of the year at 8-2.

So now we'll see who's in a race to get those extra
BCS bids. Notre Dame might still sneak away with one
and the Big Least winner will absurdly get one --
leaving the Pac 10, Big Ten and SEC (maybe ACC too) in
a wild race for the 1 or 2 bids left. A 9-2 Ohio State
team in the top 10 would be tough to ignore because,
well, SOMEBODY's gotta sell tickets against the Big
Least champ.

But after those two, you still have 9 teams dreaming
of a Big Ten title and with bowl hopes ... even Purdue
could potentially sneak in to a bowl if they get on
track.

Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan and MSU all look like pretty
solid bowl bets. NU, Minnesota and even Indiana have
decent shots at the six-win mark as well.

Gonna be one heck of a November! For now, PSU lost and
it's a whole new-game as we're in a big ole' log jam
at the top of the league with a team we beat, a team
we lost to and a couple others who are left on the
schedule.

GO CATS!!!
