Buckle your seats, Cat fans ...
- What's with all these drops!!! Baz is putting it
right on the money but his receivers are dropping the
game.
- Gotta love Baz's heart ... but hope he's not getting
too frustrated. Bad kick and no points from the drive.
UGH!
- Is this a defensive struggle or an offensive
nightmare in the second half? Next mistake wins???
Let's make a play, offense!!!
- Love how the announcers are calling him "Baz" now
too - ya gotta love this kid and this ESPN2 team can't
stop gushing about him the last couple weeks.
- That fumble loss hurts a lot. A heckuva lot because
we were this/close to reclaiming momentum.
- 98 yards later, we lose the lead. This is looking
more and more like the PSU collapse. What the heck
happened to the offense? Dropped passes, penalties,
turnovers - this has been an atrocious second half on
offense. 28-29.
- 3rd and 10 ... better pick up the blitz ... nice
catch (finally!) by Fields. Now GO O!!!
- Hope this doesn't come down to a field goal with the
atrocious kicking by both sides today.
- More drops ... these are in the end zone. Baz has to
be pizzed. Waaaaay too much time left as well. Ugh.
- Sooooooo close for Baz at the goal line ... Tough
call to go for it or the FG with our D. But with
almost 2 minutes left, a 2-point lead is nothing. Good
call - good touchdown (where were those in the 2nd
half?) ... now the conversion. Nope. 34-29. Woulda
liked to have that conversion. Dang.
- C'mon D! DE-FENSE! DE-FENSE!
- Risky kickoff to not pooch after the return - Walker
and Tiller are both gamblers. Thank goodness it didn't
backfire.
- That poor clock management at the end of the 1st
half looms large now.
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another BIG pick by the D late!!! COLE!!! COLE!!!
COLE!!!
The much-maligned defense comes up BIG for a second
straight week (remember, the first two TDs in the
second half were off special teams) to bail out a
sputtering offense in the second half.
Folks, this is a BIG win. This puts us at 2-1 in
league play, 4-2 overall and in position to get to
that 6-win mark again that would really signal a
consistent program. And we're a play away from 5-1 and
the inside track to the league title. A BIG win for
this team and for Coach Walker - congrats on hanging
on, Cats!
Next week, MSU ... hopefully after two hard losses,
Sparty will go into its usual midseason funk. In any
case, we'll need to be a lot more sharp on offense to
play with Sparty's Spread up in East Lansing.
BIG win for the Cats and a big game next week in East
Lansing before we return home. Can't look ahead though
... one game at a time and it's time to BEAT MSU!!!
GO CATS!!!
