We have our first THURSDAY NIGHT game of the season,
so make sure your picks are in by kickoff in Carolina
on Thursday night. Another week, another set of
intriguing games in the Big Ten race ... another SEC
whoppah and the annual "do I have to cheer for
someone" game in South Bend.

GAME 10: Clemson @ NC State WINNER:

My Picks
========
* Iowa 42, Indiana 14 - Not so fast on the bowl plans,
Hoosiers. The Hawks continue to gain momentum against
the soft center of their Big Ten schedule.

* Ohio St. 20, Michigan St. 17 - Tough call here with
MSU off a bye week and rough loss and OSU off a tough
defeat of their own. Go with the better D and home
team.

* Penn St. 24, Michigan 20 - Great game as a cornered
Wolverine is dangerous ... but PSU's kids are too
young to know they should be scared and pull off
another win.

* Minnesota 35, Wisconsin 31 - A "defensive struggle"
for the Badgers this week as Minny prefers to pound
the ball and grinds out a win for the axe.

* USC 45, Notre Dame 21 - Leinhart shreds the Irish
pass defense and this one's over by half with the
Trojans coming out focused for the national audience.

* LSU 23, Florida 13 - The SEC heavies are beating
each other up this year and Urban feels the wrath of
Death Valley and that Tiger speed on D vs. his spread.

* Florida St. 28, Virginia 20 - FSU's overrated, but
the Cavs are as well and won't be able to expose the
Noles. Their crossstate rivals from VPI might, though.

* Texas 41, Colorado 10 - No stoppin' the Horns in the
Little 12 this year.

* Louisville 47, West Virginia 31 - A Big Least title
game? Why does that league still get a BCS berth? This
game would be more fun if there were a Pittsnoggle
chucking the ball from deep.

* NC State 26, Clemson 23 - Looks like Clemson's
trying for our OT game record and this one could go
extra time as well, but the Pack win at home.

And off the board ...
* Northwestern 49, Purdue 42 - Whoever has the ball
last wins! NU's gotta keep throwing deep to open up
the run for superfrosh Sutton ... and Purdue's O is
still dangerous but not as mature as in the past -
hopefully they'll fumble a couple times to help our
cause.

Remember - picks in by kickoff Thursday!
GO CATS!!!
