[NU Sports] Walker's greatest win?

Nah ... it was a nice win, don't get me wrong (ANY win
over the hated Badgers is good! And as you said, we
can now send Barry out the same way we sent Hayden
out:) ).

But this one didn't have the feel of Michigan 2000,
Wisconsin 2000 or OSU 2004 ... maybe we're just
getting used to these types of games in Evanston. It
was certainly entertaining to watch (and agonizing for
the ticker and stomach!:) ) but didn't seem as "big"
as those.

As for the attendance on TV - it was gray and overcast
and Chicago now has White Sox fever (some folks even
remember that there's a place called Comiskey Park on
the other side of town:) ) so attention was diverted
elsewhere. It's certainly not the product on the
field that's hurting attendance, as I'd stack the last
five years of NU home games with any other place in
the nation in terms of big wins, thrilling finishes
and exciting (too exciting at times) football. It's
just the combo of a pro market (ask Minny/ASU), a
small alumni base and the -- deserved or not --
"elitist" view of NU. We're not the state's school.

But who cares ... sending thousands of Badger fans
home sad is always fun.:) Wisconsin didn't send their
usual amount either so I dunno if the Cheeseheads are
still in a Packer mope or just didn't get that excited
about a 5-0 start this year. But the one thing I do
like about when UW visits - their fans seem to get OUR
fans to cheer more and our small numbers made some
nice noise.

Not Walker's greatest win, but perhaps one he needed
the most? Whatever the case a wonderful win over
Wisconsin.:)

GO CATS!!!
