[NU Sports] Go Sox (white)

For those who aren't following baseball, the White Sox are starting Freddie
Garcia this afternoon. He has a reputation of being a big game pitcher with
a 3-1 career record in Fenway and a 6-2 record in 12 lifetime starts against
the Red Sox.

The Cats on the other hand are only 6.5 point underdogs. The Cats are 10th
in the BT in defending the run. Wisky is second (just ahead of Penn State).
NU is last defending against the pass but Wisky isn't that much better at
8th. Wisky is last in pass offense, NU is 2nd. So to win, NU has to take
away the run, force Wisky to pass, and not give up any big plays from
scrimmage. Wisky is going to try to do the same thing. So it comes down to
whether NU can stop the run enough to keep the game close and whether Baz
and his guys can win the game in the air.

Hopefully both the White Sox and the Cats can move on with victories this
weekend (though I think the Cats face the greater challenge).

Jeff

They still have to play a game...tonight, but the weather looks pretty glum
for Boston all weekend.

The MLB site is listing the game as ESPN2 for tonight and ESPN tomorrow, if
the game is needed.

First they have to get the game in this afternoon [4 PM EST] and then the
Sox have to win in wonderful Fenway Park, a tough joint to beat the Red Sox.

BTW - the RedSox are throwing the "king of the knuckleball" Tim Wakefield.
