[NU Sports] Opinions

I agree that we should hold each other to a higher standard in terms of the
quality of the discussion, and for the most part I think that happens here.

Case in point:

Use of an unfounded personal attack (e.g. some of this list must have
received "fan" training from the folds (sic) in Ohio) to agree with someone
else who was asking that we stop posting unfounded personal attacks (e.g.
I'd really prefer that we leave the personal assualts (sic) to the political
blogs.).

Don't know whether this was hypocritical or a very subtle bit of sarcasm to
comment on how silly and emotional the whole thread had become. If the
later, it was certainly up to the higher standard that I would expect of
everyone here. BRAVO!

Jeff

AMEN!

Unfortunately, it appears some on this list must have received "fan"
training from some folks in Ohio, too.

Opinions are one thing--personal attacks on coaches, administrators, or
players is quite another.

It's one thing to offer an opinion that NU's defense wasn't very good this
year, or even an opinion that Randy Walker isn't a good coach.

But to suggest that Walker is some sort of control freak who would never
have anyone on his staff talented enough to some day replace him seems way,
way out of bounds to me, without some strong evidence to support such a
case.

I'd really prefer that we leave the personal assualts to the political
blogs. Or to the Ohio State fans.

Tom
