Picking Vanderlinden to replace Walker would be a stroke of genius not 
likely to happen.  Not only would Vanderlinden be a great pick, but he 
could groom Fitzgerald as  his replacement when he got ready to retire,  
YOur observation that Walker doesn't want a threat to him around is 
right on.
