[NU Sports] Tell Us Something ! (fwd)

Don Canham at UoM pretty much invented sports marketing in the '70s. So I'm
not surprised that his legacy lives on in the good marketing that Michigan
does.
Some Canham's claims to fame include inventing tailgating, hiring Bo,
selling block M-branded everything, and transforming a cavernous empty
stadium to a 110K seat gold mine.
NU (or NWU) could really use someone like that to transform our college
sports franchise.
I have never understood why a beautiful college stadium reachable by public
transportation and right in the middle of one of the largest media markets
in the country is so routinely ignored.

The Michigan Athletic Department does a MUCH BETTER JOB in promoting itself.
Considering the talent that Northwestern graduates, it does a remarkably
poor job promoting itself. I'm not restricting that criticism to just the
Athletic Department, though they're among the worst offenders.
