I am active on several other football-oriented groups in addition to the
ones I run for the Cats and the Huskers.
On EVERY LIST there are constant complaints about leaving QBs in too long.
I think it's just something that all coaches, both college and NFL, get
criticized for.
About the only time I don't see complaints like that is when a team is
alternating QBs like Ohio State and Texas have done in some recent years.
(That gets complained about, too.)
Prior to NU going up by 17, the game was way too close for an untested
QB. Most of our games have been way too close for an untested QB until
the last 2 or 3 minutes, at best. Hopefully they'll be able to use
a fair portion of the extra 4 weeks of practice to work on next year's team.
Of course, there may be another Baz still being recruited.
