[NU Sports] Tell Us Something !

We do have this:

Get Ready to Bowl!
http://www.alumni.northwestern.edu/about/bowl-2005.html

(linked from http://www.nusports.com front page)

I do think it would be nice to have something a little more informative,
though, like:

Bowl Watch 2005

(linked from http://www.gophersports.com front page)

I admit, NU Athletic marketing generally does a poor job. But, I believe
they are handling the bowl situation correctly considering the
circumstances.

AD Murphy has said that the Sun Bowl is a likely destination while the Alamo
Bowl and Music City Bowl are also in the realm of possibilities. The
department has already put pages together telling fans to buy tickets from
either the department or the NU Alumni Association and has publicized the
bowls that NU could go to. Everyone knows that we are going to a bowl as
well as our likely destinations.

They have not been premature in announcing specific sites we may go to,
which would definitely hurt us without any official word from the bowls.
Also, none of the bowls we may go to will have a competitor locked up
(except maybe the Alamo Bowl, which won't happen for at least a week) since
they are waiting on the same things that we are - the BCS pairings. We are
already speculating enough along with the media, if the athletic department
were to jump in and make any definitive statement prematurely it would be
anarchy.

I do think that the NU athletic department should be able to improve
attendance at men's basketball and football games. At least they have a
more coherent marketing campaign this year than previous years, as they have
ads in numerous places in the media.

Also, it would be nice if they put potential dates and price ranges for
ticket packages now that we have it narrowed down to 3 or so potential
bowls.
