take that to mean that he wants to be our JoePA.  I believe that he means

I certainly don't want a successful NU coach to leave, but let's try to keep
things in perspective.

Here's a quote from Walker's bio on the NU site.

"Walker came to Northwestern after serving as the head football coach at
Miami (Ohio) University for nine seasons. The 50-year-old departed Oxford as
the winningest head coach in school history with a mark of 59-35-5 (.621)."

If he was someone who wanted a JoePA-type position, why did he leave Miami?

Your answer to that question is the same reason why he would leave
Northwestern.

Penn State, OSU, UoM - those are the top of the food chain in our league.
Big stadiums, all the money you need, great schools (at least two of the
three), large fan base, a chance to be national champs, and lots of pressure
to succeed.  Those are the coaches, if they are successful, who aren't going
anywhere.  Though it is unlikely to happen, do you really think that Walker
would turn down and opportunity to coach at a school like PSU, OSU, or UoM?
For that matter, what about a chance to coach at Stanford?  Think he would
turn that down?

I realize the question is really idle speculation and we're all just
twiddling our thumbs waiting for Saturday, but if he can put together
another winning season next year with a new QB, his phone will start ringing
regardless of what he has said about establishing a long term NU winning
tradition.
