Maybe because I just got back from a consulting gig and my marketing
synapses are working overtime I feel that our athletic department misses the point
that Bob makes clear.

We are not Tulane (where my ex-wife worked 15 years), Rice, Vandy, or even
Stanford. NU is so much more. We are a top 10 National University, first in
business (Kellogg), with a journalism school that in one year can turn out Alan
and his little known classmates Wilbon and Brennen. Maybe I am missing our
marketing message but instead of being a "worst team of all time" candidate
making good, we should spend a couple bucks to promote the CATS!! as a miracle
team of winners from a world class university that can compete in a cesspool
of college football (think SEC) athletics and still win. With the brainpower
we have and the scribes, kids will flock to our pied piper of educational
and athletic glory.
