B-ball is  a  lot different--if you recruit a few top guys , you can be  top 
ten, not football- you need a lot more players and a lot more depth, since 
they get injured a heck of a lot more

All i can say is good luck for NU being THE exception in football--Stanford 
has great weather and can't recruit the guys to be  consistently in the top 10 
, Vandy can't do it--Rice can't , Tulane can't -I suppose if we wanted to 
spend top $ and had a huge coaching name,  and terrific  athletic facilities we 
might--but I don't want to have NU spend money like the big time programs--it is 
inconsistent with NU's values-- Also remember Stanford even had Bill Walsh a 
second time after he became a legend and they went nowhere
