[NU Sports] Change the coaches?

Unfortunately, I've seen this thread building on some of the chats, especially
when NU gets behind and some of the more surly fans start calling for the firing
of everyone, including the waterboy [not the guy on HailToPurple].

However, I am amazed that someone would launch threads calling for massing
coaching changes [both Basketball and Football] after a loss in a winning
season!

For the record:
1. Football: [6-4, 4-3, Bowl Eligible] dOSU has one of the best defenses in the
Big 10, as usually, and they were looking at our game this year as a way to
redeem themselves after their loss last year. Besides, how many games have we
ever won in Columbus in the last 50 years? 3?

2. Basketball [2-1] UNCW has been knocking on the door of the NCAAs under their
last two coaches, playing in conferences that only get one seat at the table.
They play in a smaller conference, but their coach has a better record,
including a trip to the dance. Their PG, Goldsberry could probably play, and be
welcome, on any of the other Div I teams in North Carolina.

And the Seahawks could actually be considered a more experienced team, since
many of their kids either remember that NCAA trip or were Juco transfers.

We saw what BC's team can do when we beat Charlotte, who's coach is probably in
more trouble than Carmody right now.

In short, we lost last week to two teams who are playing better right now than
we are. I've been involved in games that my teams should have won, where we
lost. I've also faced teams that were going to beat us no matter how well we
coached. It happens.

Anyway, I'd hate to read of a top prospect, was high on NU, who decided to go
elsewhere because another team's assistants waved a whole pile of e-mails
calling for Walker's or Carmody's head and bought the argument that they would
not be there for the next 4 years because of "lack of alumni support."
