[NU Sports] genius or luck?

I like to go back to Bill Parcells:   "You are what your record  says you 
are."  And right now, we are a good, gritty team, which has pulled  out more 
close wins this year than has given away close losses.  Other than  the Penn State 
game, what game(s) should we have won?  I would have liked  to have beaten 
Michigan, but we were outplayed that week (and possibly  outcoached, as their 
Defensive Coaches did a marvelous job and their players  executed the game 
plan).  If we go 1-1 the next 2 weeks, we finish 7-4--the  same record that we had 
my freshman and sophomore years at NU (1970 &  1971).  The only difference--in 
those days we had no Citrus (Capital One),  Outback, Music City, Motor City, 
Alamo, etc., to go to.  We are doing just  fine, thank you.  And if we finally 
win a bowl this year, RW will have his  recruiting "cookie" to dangle to 
every recruit.  So let's go Cats, lets  really boost the program for the next 5 
years by finishing strong.
