Everything you've said is absolutely true. All I'm saying is one team will
not lose to another indefinitely. Otherwise, we wouldn't have beaten tOSU last
year, and Harvard would still be a national powerhouse. That's my main point.
 Period.

However, since you're comparing opponents, ND (on the downslide since Holtz
with a TV contract renewal that may be a rude awakening to alumns) vs. the
MAC (has been getting more exciting each year, and is the conference of Randy
Moss, Chad Pennington, and Byron Leftwich ) I have no problem with this match
up. I think opinions are changing, and this ain't your daddy's (or even big
brother's) MAC.

Me? I'd rather see a game vs. a top tier MAC school, then a major conference
cream puff. Never been a big fan of schedule padding. Just sayin'.

Two responses. First, since you've mentioned the 1995-96 season, our
one loss during that regular season was to the very same Miami of Ohio
-- and we lost to them in Evanston, just as we lost to them in 1999 and
2003. Second, since you mention Notre Dame, there is no downside to
playing ND. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain in playing
the Irish. But, with Miami, the opposite is true. There is nothing to
gain in playing them -- and a lot to lose, as we've seen three times in
the last 10 years.
