There is no checking allowed in women's lacrosse but there is body checking in
men's. Therefore, the men wear shoulder pads and the women don't. If you watch
the men play, you will see a lot of body checking, stick checking and sticks
smacking at sticks, balls and upper bodys. That is not allowed in women's
lacrosse. I guess it's a sexist thing about what women's bodies can stand or
maybe when the women sat down to write their rules they decided they didn't want
the contact. I don't know why it's that way, it just is.
