> Our logo is nowhere to be seen on the field of play at Ryan.
With only a yearlong exception, as long as I've paid any attention to NU
football (9 seasons), there's been the official University Logo - the
"Sculpted N" - on the center of the field.
> to me that it should be on both sides of our football team's helmets.
Again, the official University Logo is on both sides of the helmets.
The logo is also present on every purple banner flying high for
Northwestern.
I don't necessarily have a problem with the N-Cat, it's just that the
N-Cat is a modified version of a much classier logo. In much the same way
I don't wear jeans to a formal event, I don't believe that the N-Cat
should be used when the much, much classier "Sculpted N" is called for.
Situations in which the Sculpted N is called for include football games on
television (biggest national exposure for the school on a regular basis),
at graduation, etc...
Throwaway items can get the much less classy "N-Cat", like the State of
Illinois license plate, or the free keychains they gave out this year at
Lasalle Bank day.
> Our football helmets right now are very boring.
On this, I will simply express that I will respectfully disagree with your
assessment of our helmets as "boring".
Our helmets are classy and bold. They don't suck, and they're not cheap
or low-class. If they changed those I'd be pretty upset. Note that
they've survived every uniform change since '95.
