Chat about another dismal road loss for men's hoops?
About the continued inability to get it done when it's
required, when a win is necessary? About the usual
problems - poor shooting, lack of defense,
lackadaiscal rebounding, general lack of heart?

This season came down to this game at Indiana -- for
any number of reasons, the biggest being the UTTER
FAILURE of this team to beat garbage-barge teams --
and the 'Cats mailed it in, rolled over to a team they
handled at home.

I am sorry to say this but this bunch of hoopsters is
a FAILURE. No heart, no urgency, yet plenty of excuses
and plenty of the usual B.S. about next year and
injuries and all that crapola. I'm sorry but when the
chips were down (my apologies for the cliche) the
'Cats laid down all season. I hope Carmody's sad-sack
troops look at Penn State's 1-and-whatever Big Ten
season and hang their heads in utter shame.

I can't wait for this whole bunch to use up their
eligibility and begone. I am tired of the broken
record, tired of the excuses, tired of the
justifications. By any standard the Big 10 (outside of
Illinois) was WAY down this year and ONCE AGAIN we're
below .500, encumbered by embarrassing losses -- could
the loss at Illinois have been any more hideous? --
and weeks of Big Ten road failures. When does it end? 

Yeah, yeah, I can already hear the excuses coming from
the list, the justifications, the whining about
illness and injuries. I careth not.

We ripped, trashed and evierscated a football team
that after all, finished .500 and finished 4th (!) in
the Big Ten for its failures and struggles. Give me 10
such football teams for one of these sad-sack bunch of
hoopsters. 

I'm no longer drinking the purple Kool-Aid with hoops.
It's time to produce. If Thompson doesn't want to go
to class, get rid of him. If Hachad and a half dozen
other don't feel like hustling, don't feel like
getting a rebound, get rid of them. Maybe it's time to
ditch the Croatian connection which has produced
NOTHING. 

I'm sorry about being so negative, I really am. But I
am sick to death of a men's basketball team that is
one letdown after another. I could live with losing
with heart -- as football generally did -- but
basketball's gutlessness is a disgrace. Carmody needs
to look in a mirror and see if he likes what he sees.
If he doesn't. then GET RID of the losers and let's go
5-22 with walkons, that I can understand, at least.

And so we plod onwards to another 73-56 loss in the
Big Ten tournament to whomever, not, as I have said
before, that it matters; our gutless wonders can lose
to anybody (they already have, of course).
