[NU Sports] Flip-Flop Flap Featured on NBC Nightly News

Here are a few more links (see below). As you can see, flip flops were worn by other teams, and Northwestern's lacrosse team was dressed at least as well as the average team, and I'd say a little better than average. I can see a local story about the flip-flops, but if it's a national story, why not cover all the teams, instead of singling out just one? Lazy journalism, I guess. Btw, this was about a 2 minute segment on the NBC news.

The Minnesota women's hockey team wore flip flops, and weren't as well dressed overall:

The Georgia gymnastics team is arguably the most formally dressed, but I still see flip-flops:

The UCLA water polo team cropped their feet out of the picture; I'll take that as an admission of guilt. You decide:

Duke golf: Sandals, but no flip flops.

And as already mentioned below, the Michigan softball team wore shorts and tennis shoes.

The poor lacrosse team is getting a lot of publicity over this when I bet other women's teams were also wearing flip flops. I think it's just because the Tribune started a story on it. I'm trying to find other team photos. In fact, the Michigan softball team wore shorts and tennis shoes. Why no outrage about that?
