[NU Sports] sec bowl foes

Yes, in that I would expect the foe to be a
significant team because it's a BT bowl. I'd rather
play Alabama in Nashville than Boise. If the choice is
Troy in Nashville and Alabama in Boise, I'd swallow
hard and pick Troy. Of course I would rather see NU
playing top-caliber teams rather than bozos (but a
little part of me sez play a bozo team in the Whazzat
Bowl and beat them to end the bowl drought) but with
bowls you take what you get.

Really, if it's not the Rose Bowl, do we care who we
play? I don't, leaving aside revenge factors
(Nebraska, USC), bragging rights (insert school you
want to lord it over where you live) and the very few
schools I would genuinely look forward to see an NU
matchup against (N*** D***, Army, North Carolina,
UCLA, Ga. Tech). Otherwise, New Mexico, Nevada,
Mississippi and BC all look the same in a minor bowl.

But we do care about location, don't we? Many of us
could not afford Hawaii. Detroit was OK -- once. Boise
in December? BRRRR!!! El Paso? Barf. Shreveport? See
Detroit. Compare that list to: Pasadena, New Orleans,
San Antonio, Tampa, San Francisco, San Diego. I know
where I'd rather go! 

That's the real object isn't it? 

Is it? For the fans? Is it? I don't know. Of course
everybody wants to win but a nice trip is a big part.

Well, we had the first version in San Antonio and the
second (sort of, I realize) in Detroit and as awful as
the Alamo game was I think most people had more fun in
San Antonio.

where your "others" would rather go!!!
