Woohoo! Well, we'll see until after the game:), but
it's the best you could ask for. The league has a
solid rep of good officiating, they usually let the
players play and don't "over" officiate and they're
used to shootouts.

As for the Alamo Bowl refs, I do think they were
clearly out of their league. The ending madness is
fine -- as Mike said, both sides could have been
flagged -- and the Michigan fumble call appeared to be
the right call (though that has to be the closest I've
seen a call in a long time, maybe since the "tuck
rule" game, as I don't think they could have
overturned it whichever way they ruled). But the slow
spots, slow replay stops and that missed interference
at the end certainly had an impact on what was a
pretty good bowl game.

Actually, most of the bowl games have been pretty good
-- at least close -- so far. But that could be evened
out by the BCS bowls, where we could easily see four
blowouts.
