[NU Sports] Play of the Year

The Tribune sports section is running an ongoing back
page series where each of the sportwiters talk about
their favorite story, play, interview, road trip, etc
of the year.

Today, John Mullin had the following to say about his
play of the year: "Northwestern was being put away by
nationally ranked Iowa in the Wildcats' Jan 26
basketball game at WelshRyan arena. Somehow NU got the
game into overtimebut was down 74-72 as the final
seconds ticked away. Walk-on Michael Jenkins got loose
along the left baseline and launched a three
pointerthat hit the rim, bounced high in the air, and
dropped through as the buzzer sounded."
