Normally, my utter disdain for all things OSU would take over and I
couldn't force myself to root for them even against the Evil Empire, yet
this year I have to put my normal feelings aside and pull for the
Bucks. The Chicago media has treated the ND bowl announcement as if the
campus was located in the Loop and Evanston was somewhere near
Carbondale. While that may not be directly attributable to the efforts
of the ND athletic office, they certainly have done nothing to damp it
down and the Medill grads at the Trib should know better. I just can't
bring myself to cheer for ND no matter how distatesteful I find the team
across the field. I'm really glad this is the last year that
money-grubbing institution gets to keep the entire $17 million. At
least the BCS finally had the guts to stand up to them that little bit.
