[NU Sports] Well, I hope you're right Alan! :)

The question is simple. Ohio State could be coached by the triumvirate of Pol Pot, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong, and I would root against them probably 11 weeks a year, but if they faced Notre Shame, they would instantly be my favorite team, at least for those three hours.
The smiling, arrogant, cloying Charlie Weiss interviews that saturated ABC and ESPN during the Sunday selection shows only solidified my utter disdain for that foul, stench-ridden and money-grubbing institution.

I don't like to get into politics on sites like this one, but I can't let this go by. As general Giap said in his memoirs, we knew we couldn't beat the American military but we knew we could win the war in Washington. Now the same hell no we won't go mind set has reappeared in Washington probably led by people who during the Vietnam War spit on GIs coming back from there.. Woody Hayes may have been off of the wall towards the end, but he looked after his players even after they had graduated or at least used up their eligibility and was a great American. That he was off the walls is illustrated by a story that he was recruiting in Michigan and ran out of gas near the Ohio boarder rather than buy gas in MIchigan. I guess he had to walk a couple of miles to get to an Ohio gas station. There aren't many characters left in sports. college or pro anymore. I'm no OSU fan, but neither am I a ND fan. ND gets a free pass and more free publicity than any school that I can think of. I !
hope OSU clobbers ND.
