II think GB's contract was last extended in 2002.  According to the wire
service stories at the time, they replaced most of the performance
incentives with a $2 million lump sum 'retention incentive', payable 
when the contract expires in July of 2007.

That'd be a hard nut to swallow if some school wanted to hire him away
from CU, and the list of schools likely to want him at this point is
probably rather small.
