Taylor would not be the first AD to come in with a successful football 
coach already in place, though he handled it badly.  (Many think that's 
a large part of what happened at Nebraska, too.)

I really think all of the other schools were just casual flirtations, though
with with BIG dollars being waved around.  The two schools that Barnett 
really wanted to go to were Missouri and Colorado, probably in that order.  
He wrote that he was truly hurt when Mizzou didn't even seriously consider 
him.  I wonder if he'd make that move if it was offered now?
