It's season eight of the picks!
OK gang ... I'm just a month in to my move to the
desert and the new teaching job, so there won't be a
Web site version of the picks this year ... and the
jorsm.com address is history, so all picks will come
to this address this year. Also, between six classes
of 30+ kids in a growing Arizona community, I may not
get the standings out as fast, so bear with me!:)
The game, however, has not changed. And it's going to
be fun watching the Big Ten race from afar in between
a few trips to Evanston. I'll also get a closer view
of the Pac 10 race, so we may see some more of those
games in the lineup this year. With that in mind,
here's a refresher on the rules and an updated hall of
fame at the end. The week 1 slate will be coming next.
PIGSKIN PICKS 2005

THE RULES
* The Pigskin Picks are open to EVERYONE. If you're
reading this, feel free to join in.
* This contest is for FUN only, no wagering. The only
thing you can win is bragging rights.
* HAVE FUN! That's what this is about.
HOW IT WORKS:
* Every week (usually Monday or Tuesday), I'll post a
list of games for the week. The game list will include
every game with a Big 10 team and other national games
of note chosen by me.
* To avoid any appearance of inpropriety for the
NCAA:), Northwestern games will not be included on the
list.
* To enter the pool, either fill out the form online,
or e-mail me privately with your picks.
* Picks are scored win/loss only, no point spread.
Pick who you think will win.
* All pick sheets will be due back to me by noon
eastern time on FRIDAY (unless noted when we have a
Thursday night game or something).
* You don't have to play every week - just decide on a
week by week basis.
* However, if you send in a sheet for the week, you
must pick ALL games. Any games left unmarked will be
counted as a loss.
* To be included in the current standings each week,
you will have had participated for 3/4 of the weeks -
this will allow for some people to miss a week or two
and still be included.
* If you know you'll be gone and don't want to miss a
week, e-mail me for future week's lineups.
* One definition: An "Upset Special" is a correct pick
in a game where fewer than 1/3 of the participants
picked the team that won.
* Any questions, e-mail me privately.
