All NU undergrads now pay $25 up front annually for attendance at all
home men's basketball and football games (you used to have to pay for
student season tickets to these events). The capacity for the student
section at football games is 5,000, and the only game last year when
they had to turn people away was OSU (which was sold out anyways).
While this may hurt actual attendance numbers, they probably count
paid attendance, which gives them an automatic 5,000 person boost (I
would check last year's attendance numbers versus previous years to
see if you can see the boost).
Also, I have a more pessimistic view of the season - with all of the
loses piling up over the summer, I see the 'Cats getting only 4 (maybe
5 if they can pull off an upset) wins this season. Check out my
personal preview here:

Of course, last year I thought maybe 5 wins, and they suprised me by
rolling off 5 straight home wins. The momentum NU builds up at home
at the beginning of the season will make the big difference (4/5 at
home to start the season).
