[NU Sports] Another loss on Defense?

At one point Philmore received a great toss by Baz, on the left sideline,
then cut all the way up and back across the field, evading every defender,
and got a decent block from Fields (could've been a better block,
honestly, but it was good enough) for a ginormous gain, leading to a TD.
The offense was clicking, but really - how can you tell how good your
offense is when your D is suffering?

One of the great things I noticed from the scrimmage was that the field
goal unit seemed to be a little tighter with Howell and Villareal doing
the kicking. One of the two of them hit a 50 yarder. If we can hit those
field goals we've missed in the past... well, we'll all be a little
happier come season's end.

Punt and kickoff coverage was abysmal at best, at least to my eyes (which,
admittedly, are those of a long-time fan not nearly as experienced at
judging these things as many others on this list).

D didn't look too great to me or those I was with, but they occasionally
came up with a good play. They certainly seemed fired-up on the
sidelines. Deante Battle was a bright spot there - broke up a pass (with
some offensive penalty in there that I couldn't figure out what happened),
zoomed in for a tackle on a kickoff return after getting off of a block or
two. I hope he's got everything together to start a week from this
upcoming Saturday.

I'm super-excited just thinking about where I'll be in less than two
weeks, thought, and I sincerely hope that we manhandle those Bobcats.

P&G, and Go Cats!,

Jonathan
