I started this tread with a warning that it was baseless idle speculation,
but I guess the warning wasn't sufficiently obvious.  So from now on I
promise to include the above warning on any future posts containing
questionable content to protect the sensitive.

For everyone else, I think we need more trite, idle, irrelevant content.  If
it weren't for this list, I never would have learned the deep dark secrets
of Willie.

This year in particular is not the one to impose the "cone of relevance" on
these discussions because it could get pretty ugly pretty quickly.  IMHO we
should look extra hard for humor because it is going to be a real challenge
to find seven wins (unless there are some "Henne/Hart"-types lurking in our
Freshman class). 

It is after all a game and games are supposed to be fun aren't they?  It's a
lot more fun to speculate wildly about the prospects of our team than to
focus on the realities.  It's also a lot more fun to discuss completely
irrelevant matters than dwell on our prospects this year as a result of
losing a talented player like Loren Howard.

So I apologize to all those who've wasted their time reading this post.  I
hope it brought you a little enjoyment.

Thanks for an obvious answer.  I don't quite understand how Howard's major
at NU or ASU's academic reputation was even mentioned in another poster's
email -- completely irrelevant.  Of course, Gavin Hoffman claimed NU was too
easy!

Let's hope that things work out for the best rather than waste our time on
idle and trite speculation.

I've heard that Howard has a girlfriend (fiance?) back home in Arizona, and
that may have more to do with his decision than anything regarding either
Northwestern in general or Randy Walker in particular. -- Jim B.
