[NU Sports] NU vs. Michigan under the lights (fwd)

The 12th game was opposed by the three members from I-AA. As a division as
well, I-AA voted it down, presumably because of the extra games they play as
a result of the playoffs.
There has been discussion among both the Big Ten coaches and ADs about
adding one more conference game but not going to a full schedule. They will
not give up that many non-conference games. I don't know if a formal
proposal has been made to the Big Ten presidents, but it should be put on
the table soon.

Since the coaches were opposed to the 12 game schedule, I suspect they're
not going to be quick to suggest a full conference schedule, either.
I think the vote for the 12 game schedule was 8-2-1, but I haven't found
a report of what 3 board members didn't vote for the 12th game.
The scramble to find a new group of voters to replace the AP poll is still
occupying the BCS's time. I have the sinking feeling it's going to be
a poll of the ADs or college presidents as opposed to a group of people
who know something about the game and don't have a built-in bias.
Of course, if the AP poll turns out to be way out of sync with the BCS,
maybe that will lead to some kind of reconciliation.
