I would think that they would keep it the same as it is now: 6-6 is 
eligible to fulfill a conference contract.

What that will do is encourage any new bowl game to get conference tie-ins, 
which I really dislike in the lower-tier bowl games.  I think that when 
you're trying to get people to travel to Detroit, Boise, or even Memphis or 
Nashville, you need to be able to select the best available teams, for at 
least one side of the ball.

Now of course, the smaller conference proponents will argue that this will 
make more of their teams eligible.  For example, if the MAC signs another 
bowl contract, and then one of their teams goes 0-3 non-con against the Big 
Boys, they still have a chance to be bowl-eligible if they can put together 
a 6-3 season out of their remaining schedule.

So I have mixed feelings about it.

BTW, on the original subject of this thread, have I ever mentioned how much 
I LOVE NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!!
