[NU Sports] 6-6 bowl eligible?

Here's an excerpt from the story on the Washington Post website
about the NCAA adding a 12th game:

    Adding a 12th game is fraught with other issues, as well. Chief 
    among them is whether a team will need seven wins to qualify for 
    a bowl game or whether a 6-6 record will suffice. To that end, 
    NCAA directors agreed yesterday that seven would be preferable 
    and voted to allow a victory over a I-AA team count toward 
    bowl eligibility.

'Prefer' doesn't necessarily mean 'require', but it sounds like they may 
have changed the Bylaws to require 7-5.  I guess we'll have to wait and 
see the final wording when it hits the NCAA's online version of the 
regulations.

Given the close call they had in filling all the bowl slots last year
and at least 1 more bowl game in the works, it seems to me that requiring 
a 7-5 record will result in virtually all of those 12th games being 
against 1-AA schools.
