Yeah, I can see that happening too ... I was impressed with Tressel when he
came in, but stuff's starting to pile up there that may tarnish the
program. I think it helps that the Texas game is so early (Vince Young vs.
Troy Smith ... prime time at the Shoe, it's as good as it gets) ... but I
can see them winning that game and then slipping later if the distractions
pile up.

And Iowa's good enough that any slip by the Bucks could mean the title.
Ferentz has won three years in a row with new offensive backfields ... what
will he do when he has a QB returning? Scary.

Saw Mike's note about the 12th game ... a few reactions:

* Don't like the counting a I-AA win every year ... will lead to even more
cupcake games and fewer OSU/Texas contests. I've said many times, the NCAA
just doesn't encourage tough schedules in football.

* Miles Brand is full of it saying that the academics won't be altered by
filling in the "bye week" with a 12th game ... the season's stretched 14-15
weeks anyway ... you're just taking away rest time for physical and mental
recouperation.

* Also like the copout by Brand about the playoff ("ask the BCS").

Didn't see (maybe I'm forgetting it) anything about how bowl bids will be
changed -- is 6-6 going to be OK or is it still 6 wins AND a winning mark?
