I found this link in a post on HornFans (great college sports web site even
for non-Texas fans):

http://www.coachratings.com/index.html

The site solicits ratings from former Division 1A football, basketball and
baseball players regarding their coaches. The site appears to be designed as a
tool for potential recruits trying to decide where to matriculate. At this
point, the sample sizes are pretty small. Some of the information appears to be
outdated (ie. Jackie Sherrill is out of college football, thank G-d). Please
don't attack me about the site's deficiencies; I'm just passing along the link.

Northwestern's Randy Walker, Bill Carmody and Paul Stevens are all listed.
Randy Walker gets a relatively low ranking. For example, 11.1% of the 18 former
players surveyed characterized Walker as "corrupt". Bill Carmody, on the other
hand, has the highest possible ranking - a 10.0. Paul Stevens is 7.5. Walker
is 6.4.

It's interesting to see how various coaches compare and are rated.
