As did I!  When I attended, the Sociology program ranked among the top 10 in the nation.  (I must admit that I don't remember who did the rankings--U.S. News & World Report?  Maybe, but I think it was a somewhat more academic organization--or how one goes about ranking sociology departments or departments in any other discipline, for that matter.)  Here's my NU sports hook:  I got to know a few of the Rose Bowl-team football players through a couple of my smaller sociology classes.  -Joe

I had something in common with Mr. Bellow.  We both majored in that  glorious 
discipline--Sociology--traditionally one of [W]CAS' strongest  departments.
